Unused Character Intro Animations

By swapping character files of some Amigo mode characters with those of regular characters they will be shown to have a character select screen animation.

Unused icons/Rainbow Gem

Some of these HUD icons are not all used in the game. The first 7 gems are normally obtainable, however the rainbow colored gem is not. The demo version of Sonic 2006 has text that says "Allows you to perform 'super'" but is replaced with text "???: You'll need to buy it to see what it does!" in the retail copy. If the text refers to the Rainbow Gem then that means that the player may have been able to transform into their super form on any level. Part of the gem's programming was finished but can only be accessed through hacking. If enabled the player can go through the Super transformations animations, but will not turn Super.

Unused Warp Gate images

These images are displayed on the warp gates that appear on the Soleanna map. Among them are images of levels that do not have warp gates--such as Crisis City.

Knuckles End Level Victory Pose

Knuckles does not finish a level and thus cannot perform a victory pose in normal circumstances. However, utilizing a glitch will allow Knuckles to finish a level and strike a pose.[1] He also has phrases which change depending on level rankings.

S ranking - "All right!"
A ranking - "That felt good"
B ranking - "Well that wasn't TOO bad"
C ranking - "Shoot! I've still got a way to go..."

Unused Music Tracks

Two tracks in the game are unused, they are called silver_theme.xma and shadow_theme.xma. The alternate main theme can be found here and the alternate Silver theme can be found here.

Silver's track seems to have MIDI backing put in place, while Shadow's theme is an untouched version from Shadow The Hedgehog.

Unused Text

The following text can be found by examining the disc's contents. It is unused in the game.

Other Text

Some of these missions are seen in game but some aren't. The $ is a variable and can be made to mean anything. It seems that Sonic Adventure 2 style goals were once meant to be part of the game. There also seemed to be a mode where more than one goal ring was located in the level.
