Sonic Dash Extreme is an updated version of the iOS/Android title Sonic Dash developed for arcades. It is known to have been released in select arcades around the United Kingdom in May 2015[1]. Daily and all-time leaderboards are featured by the game.

Gameplay
Sonic Dash Extreme plays very similarly to the mobile game it is based on, albeit with some differences. Rather than touching the screen, the player controls their character using a large D-Pad; Pressing 
and 
will make the character move sideways, pressing 
makes the character jump, and pressing 
makes the character perform a Spin Attack. At the start of a game, the player's character is randomly selected out of the following nine characters: Sonic, Tails, Knuckles, Amy, Shadow, Blaze, Silver, Rouge, or Cream.
Redemption tickets are awarded to the player when passing through checkpoints at the end of each section. After passing through the last checkpoint, the player is ranked based on the amount of tickets they've won and the number of Rings they have collected, followed by a boss battle against Dr. Eggman in his Egg Mobile. The battle is different from the smartphone version in that after being launched into the air by Springs, the player has to lock-on to and attack the Egg Mobile's missile launchers using the D-Pad. If the player fails to do so, they lose the game.
