Sonic Athletics (ソニック アスレチックス) is an arcade game created by Sega, and released for Arcade hardware in 2013. It was made available at Tokyo Joypolis[2]. The game shows similarities to Mario & Sonic at the London 2012 Olympic Games. The game is played by jogging on up to 8 trendmills in a race to the finish. The game cabinet uses artwork of the Nintendo 3DS version of Sonic Generations. Amy and Blaze wear outfits from the summer outfits from the Mario & Sonic olympic games.

Up to 8 players race on a screen-facing treadmill, taking on the role of a particular character based on which treadmill station they use in the following order: Sonic, Tails, Knuckles, Amy, Shadow, Metal Sonic, Silver and Blaze. Each of the players race through three different events, and a jump button is provided for events that require jumping. The faster a player runs on the treadmill, the faster their character runs.
