This short article is in need of work. You can help Sonic Retro by adding to it. |
Another of the common cliched zones. All or most of the level takes place underwater and the use of air bubbles is critical. You'll find plenty of piranha badniks as well. First appeared: Labyrinth Zone, Sonic 1 Also in:
- Aquatic Ruin Zone, Sonic 2
- Aqua Planet Zone, Sonic Chaos
- Hydrocity Zone, Sonic 3
- Tidal Tempest Zone, Sonic CD
- Dry Lagoon and Aquatic Mine, Sonic Adventure 2
- Ice Mountain, Sonic Advance
- Ocean Base Zone, Sonic Advance 3
- Water Palace, Sonic Rush
- Coral Cave Zone, Sonic Rush Adventure
An interesting note is that the cliche has been virtually dropped with recent games, as falling into water causes the player to lose a life, which prevents underwater play, like in Tropical Jungle (Sonic the Hedgehog (2006 game))
