Orbinaut is an enemy (Badnik) found in the video game, Sonic the Hedgehog. Orbinauts are robots modelled after sea urchins.[1] Its body is protected by four spike balls, making it impossible to defeat without taking damage.
Orbinaut is one of the few enemies not featured in the North American or European manuals. The name "Orbinaut" first appeared in merchandise during the early 1990s.
A variant that fires its spike balls can be found in Labyrinth. In Japan, each version has its own name, the version that retains its spike balls is called Uni Uni, while the version that fires its spike balls is called Unidus.
