Spikes is an enemy (Badnik) found in the video game, Sonic the Hedgehog. They are robots modelled after hermit crabs.[1] They walk along the ground, their backs protected with spikes, making them invulnerable from above. They can be defeated with a spin attack.
Spikes is one of the few enemies not featured in the North American or European manuals. The name "Spikes" first appeared in merchandise during the early 1990s.
