The Egg Press (エッグ プレス)[1] is the second boss in Sonic Advance, which takes place in Secret Base Zone. Dr. Eggman is in a machine with a giant spring attached below, similar to the Hopping Egg Vulcan boss fought in Sonic Chaos' Sleeping Egg Zone.
Strategy
Eggman will jump about in the Egg Press in an attempt to squash the player. With each hit the player lands on Eggman, he will gradually move faster. Sometimes he will jump very high off-screen and come crashing down, setting of an invisible shockwave that will inflict damage on the player unless they jump right before the boss hits the ground. Eight hits (or six if in Easy mode) must be inflicted on the machine to destroy it and proceed to the next Zone.
