Plot summary

Sonic the Hedgehog and his friends Miles "Tails" Prower, Knuckles the Echidna and Amy Rose are all gathered together in a ruined temple where they encounter the hooligan Fang the Hunter. Fang stands above them on his Marvelous Queen, taunting them with the green Chaos Emerald in his hands. The purple jerboa attacks them with his missile launchers but Sonic and his friends are quick to dodge and deflect them. Sonic and Tails hit Fang with a Spin Attack to distract him while the clever fox reverses the power on the Marvelous Queen. Doing this knocked Fang to the ground and Amy bops him with her Piko Piko Hammer.

Fang then wakes up, turns out the battle was just a bad dream. Dr. Eggman yells at Fang while Trip the Sungazer explores the Golden Capital temple on her own. She looks at a plant growing down in the tunnels they're in but Eggman stomps on it. The doctor then triggers a trap and Fang gets them out of there using his hovercraft. The three of them break through a wall and find what they were looking for. It's a mural that shows the people of the Northstar Islands using the Emerald Powers, all around the Black Dragon. Meanwhile, Fang is attacked by a giant snake from the desert while Trip holds onto the Marvelous Queen's main power supply. Trip throws it to Fang and he remembers what Tails did in his dream. He reverses the power to drop down and uses his drill to trap the snake in rope, defeating it. Seeing the snake hurt saddens Trip, but Eggman and Fang don't care. Eggman had completed a drawing of the Black Dragon during the fighting and gets ambitious.
