The Yellow Desert Zone boss is the second boss fought in Sonic Blast. It is a humanoid mech with Dr. Eggman riding in the cockpit that stands on a cloud-like platform floating above the ground, referencing the character Sun Wukong from the Chinese novel Journey to the West.
Strategy
The mech first emerges from the right side of the screen and simply poses without attacking (giving a clear opportunity for it to be hit), then withdraws back into the right side of the screen and emerges again, this time jabbing diagonally downwards with a spear while heading leftward. Then it reemerges from the left side of the screen and repeats the process, only with the directions swapped. It repeats the attack pattern, cycling back and forth between left and right, until it is defeated.
Its only vulnerable area is the glass windscreen, which must be hit 12 times in order for the boss to be defeated, which will then allow Sonic and Knuckles to proceed to Red Volcano Zone.
