Wood Zone is another Zone removed from Sonic the Hedgehog 2 before release. As it was never discussed in public and there's virtually no trace of it in the final game, its existence came to light when the Simon Wai prototype was released.

Only the very beginning of the Zone has been implemented in this prototype. The music played is ID $83, otherwise known as the theme for Metropolis Zone. The stage is also devoid of Rings and objects.
