Hill Top Zone is the third stage of the Simon Wai prototype. While there are a few layout differences in act 2, the zone is very close to the final game, save for the missing enemies and boss.

As with the Nick Arcade prototype, Sonic doesn't automatically spin when entering these tubes.

Like Emerald Hill Zone, some of the tunnels are blocked. This one, which leads to an invincibility monitor in the final game, is blocked off and leads nowhere.
