Who is Rouge?
Rouge is 18 (a typo in Sonic Heroes stated that she was 17 however) years of age. She has the same attacks as Knuckles, except she specializes in kicking. Rouge is treasure hunter who thinks all the world's gems belong to her. Her current jewel obsessions being the Master Emerald and Chaos Emeralds. She is also a government spy sent out to collect information on the so called "Ultimate Lifeform" Shadow.
Rouge's love life
It's official that Rouge has a crush on Knuckles. She can see his strong determination towards his duties and that makes her feelings for him even stronger. He likes her as well, but both are too stubborn to admit their feelings for each other. On the other hand, she acts flirtatious towards Sonic as well. She also likes to tease Tails, making him blush a lot. But, while her actions toward Knuckles are somewhat genuine, she flirts with the other guys just to be a tease, adding to her already mysterious nature. In Sonic Adventure 2, Knuckles and Rouge are very close to kissing, but they realize what they are doing and begin arguing. And in Sonic Heroes, they talk but after a few seconds Rouge decides to change the subject.
Many say that Rouge and Shadow the Hedgehog have a connection. This springing about because of her care towards Shadow in Sonic Battle where she lets him live with her after lacking a place to stay. While most would look at a normal person and shrug this behavior off thinking of it as something chartiable and apart of her nature like many other people's...catch is: Rouge's nature really isn't charitable. She is in fact very self-centered most of the time, which makes this instance quite peculiar. Though whether feelings that aroused this course of action are romantic or platonic is an opinionated conclusion. So it's safe to say that Rouge and Shadow have a sort of brother-sister relationship. In Sonic X, when she first established the business transactions on helping Eggman and Shadow find the chaos emeralds, she seemed oddly interested in Shadow, she also called him, "charming". This, however, was because he was her objective, to find out whether or not he was truly the Ultimate Lifeform.
Game Appearances
She has appeared in games including Sonic Adventure 2/Battle, Sonic Battle, Sonic Heroes (where she leads Team Dark as their flight member), Shadow the Hedgehog and in the Sonic the Hedgehog comics.

In the Sonic X anime, she is voiced by Kathleen Delaney. She was originally played by Lani Minella, who was the original voice director and also played Omochao and the announcer in Sonic Adventure.
