Humourously, Porker started out like a normal pig with trotters and quite chubby. He somehow evolved hands and feet and became quite slender and slim; this was probably because realisticly he would have a hard time inventing anything with trotters. Porker was probably the most drasticly changed character in the comic.

History

Debuting in the first issue where he is rescued by Sonic from a Batbrain badnik, the character became a series staple in issue #8, after Sonic, Tails, Johnny Lightfoot and Porker are trapped in the special zone for six months. During this time, Robotnik took over the planet Mobius and Porker Lewis became one of the Freedom Fighters.

Issue #18 saw Porker don a black leather jacket with Sonic's face stitched into the back, and he became the gang's "tech" member, inventing many devices and contraptions to help the Freedom Fighters (and becoming taller and slender in the process, as well as gaining hands). Unlike other characters in Sonic's close circle of friends, Porker has a nervous disposition and prefers to stay in the lab rather than on the battlefield. He is, however, an invaluable member to the team, providing gadgets and constant repairs to the Tornado to assist the fight against Robotnik.

Porker's story was later partially retconned, and it is revealed that he used to be a notorious gang leader named Oscar the Pig in the Special Zone. He decided to quit the life of crime and dedicated his life to science.

During the Brotherhood of the Metallix story, Porker was captured on the Miracle Planet by the Brotherhood of Metallix, suffering a nervous breakdown after the incident and retiring to the Floating Island to live with Knuckles. While most of Sonic's animal friends were left behind after the first year of STC's publication, Porker (and Johnny Lightfoot) remained a central character in the story until the end of the series. It is suspected that he may have been sidelined in later years, however, as the comic tried to line itself up better with the video games.
