Seaside Hill is the first level from Sonic Heroes, and is the traditional beach-chequered hill level. It has palm trees, beachs, old ruins, and even a whale-shaped island.
Purpose
Though the purpose for being at Seaside Hill is never truly revealed, it can be assumed that it is linked to the motive behind each team's story: Team Sonic is out to stop Dr. Eggman from taking over the world. Team Dark is after Eggman, but each for a different reason (Shadow to learn about his past, Rouge to get ahold of his treasure, and Omega to take revenge on Eggman for sealing him in the chamber with Shadow). Team Rose is following Sonic (Amy for the obvious reason, Big and Cream (with Cheese, of course), tagging along because of a newspaper article depicting Sonic running off with Froggy and Cheese's twin, Chocola). Lastly, Team Chaotix is directed by the voice from the walkie-talkie to collect hermit crabs there.
Appearance
Seaside Hill is a tranquil oceanic coast that bares an obvious resemblance to Green Hill Zone in some areas. Like its 16-bit predecessor, Seaside Hill features cliffs with checkerboard designs on them, classic 360 loops, and colorful plantlife. Unlike Green Hill Zone, however, the stage also features white stone structures and two karts that a player must ride on to reach the goal.
