Sonic the Hedgehog 3 Limited Edition was a compilation of Sonic the Hedgehog 3 and Sonic and Knuckles combined. This would be similiar to what you get when locking the games together, however it would be in a single cartridge and would not allow you to lock the game onto any others, so playing Knuckles in Sonic 2 or Blue Sphere would not be possible.
