- 1993 — The Sonic Hot Air Balloon appears in the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade in North America for the first time. The float held more air than the others and is the first float ever created based on a video game character. The float crashed into a lamppost and injured 2 people.
- 1995 — Issue #66 of Sonic the Comic is released in the United Kingdom.
- 1998 — Issue #67 of the Sonic the Hedgehog comic series by Archie Comics is released in North America.
- 2004 — Sonic Town LaLaport Koshien opens in Japan.
- 2005 — Sonic Rush is released for the Nintendo DS in Europe.
