The Skimboost[1], also spelled as the Skim Boost and known as the Touch Dash (タッチダッシュ[2]) in Japan, is a move that is used in Team Sonic Racing. It is a team-based driving technique that supports the user's teammates.
Overview
During a team race, if a racer is driving more slowly than a teammate or has spun out from an attack, a teammate can pass by the racer as close as they can. This will generate yellow rings that will close in on the racer's vehicle, and give them a quick burst of acceleration to competitive speed. The greater the speed difference between both teammates, the stronger the boost will be. This technique is useful for giving teammates who have lost a lot of speed to recover more quickly, and will fill the Ultimate Meters of both the user and their teammates, which is important for charging up their Team Ultimates.
