Bot Bus

From Sonic Retro

Snively driving the Bot Bus with Dr. Robotnik and SWATbot team 066 as passengers.

The Bot Bus, also known as Robotnik's Robobus[1], was a vehicle used by Dr. Robotnik in issue #26 of Archie Comics' Sonic the Hedgehog comic series. Resembling an armored off-road bus, it was used by Robotnik and Snively to chase down the Knothole Freedom Fighters as they were exploring a mountain.

Overview

Description

The Bot Bus largely resembles a regular bus used for public transportation, albeit one with a front grille resembling a bear trap, a tracking device on the dashboard and tracks instead of wheels. It was capable of ramming through wooden structures without suffering any major damage, but unable to move very fast in rocky terrain according to Snively. As most of its passengers were SWATbots, it can be assumed that the vehicle's primary purpose was troop transportation.

History

As Sonic the Hedgehog and the Knothole Freedom Fighters were exploring a mountain, Dr. Robotnik and Snively and were chasing after them with the Bot Bus, using its tracking device to follow Sonic's movements. Having eventually tracked the Freedom Fighters down to an old log fortress, Robotnik ordered Snively to crash through its wooden gate with the Bot Bus. As the two Overlanders were threatened by Bunnie Rabbot in the fortress' courtyard, Robotnik ordered SWATbot team 066, who had been riding the Bot Bus as passengers, to engage her. Bunnie proceeded to overpower the SWATbots, prompting Robotnik to order Snively to run her down with the bus. However, Bunnie dodged at the last minute using her roboticized legs' telescope extension ability, leading into the Bot Bus crashing through the fortress' outer wall and tumbling down the mountain.
