Many unused objects weren't put in Sonic the Hedgehog during development due to time constraints and other technicalities.
Ball
- Function: obstacle / vehicle
- Location: Green Hill Zone
- Description: A big ball that carries Sonic along. Cut out in final version, used as Robotnik' s vrecking ball. Similar to Oil Ocean Zone's Spring Ball.
Yadrin
- Function: badnik
- Location: Marble Zone
- Description: Badnik with spikes on top. In final version moved to Spring Yard Zone.
Caterkiller
- Function: badnik
- Location: Sparkling Zone
- Description: Caterkiller, located in Sparkling Zone. Removed from Spring Yard Zone.
Block No. 1
- Function: obstacle
- Location: Labyrinth Zone
- Description: Push the block and it will act like the one in Marble Zone.
Block No. 2
- Function: vehicle
- Location: Labyrinth Zone
- Description: Jump on the platform and it will fly to the right until it hits the wall. Then it'll drop down.
Block No. 3
- Function: obstacle
- Location: Labyrinth Zone
- Description: Run into the block FROM THE SIDE and it will slowly fall down.
Star Pointer
- Function: badnik
- Location: Clock (W)ork Zone
- Description: Same as the one in Labyrinth Zone. Releases spikes when Sonic comes close to him.
Debug End panel
- Function: monitor
- Location: End Panel (debug)
- Description: Take a GOOD look at this picture of end panel. It features powerups. The one on the far right has not be seen in Sonic 1; it is Supersonic powerup!
W - object
- Function: ???
- Location: Special Stage
- Description: Does "W" stand for "weird"?
