System: Sega Mega Drive/Genesis |
Original game: Sonic the Hedgehog 2 (16-bit) |

Sonic 2 XL is a hack of Sonic the Hedgehog 2 for the Sega Mega Drive/Genesis by Captain Bozo and Ranger.
Gameplay
The game was inspired by the crazy "rings are bad" hacks. The rings were replaced by Onion Rings, and you get fatter by eating them. The fatter you are, the slower you run, and the shorter you jump. Eventually you can't even roll up properly, and if you get too fat, you die. You can burn off the fat by running, or by hitting the ? monitors scattered through the levels.
