Froggy is the amphibian pet of Big the Cat. He debuted in Sonic Adventure as the goal to fish out in Big's levels.
Froggy swallowed a portion of Chaos' tail as well as a Chaos Emerald, causing the frog to be pursued by Dr. Eggman. Feeding Froggy to Chaos caused the beast to take its Chaos 6 form.
Froggy was kidnapped in Sonic Heroes by Metal Sonic and Big sets out to rescue him again with help of Amy Rose and Cream the Rabbit of Team Rose. The reasons to why Froggy was kidnapped is unknown but Metal Sonic does say "Chaos Data has been copied." after Froggy and Chocola are rescued. It's possible that Froggy was taken by Metal Sonic because of what happened to him in Sonic Adventure.
