Chaos Boost is a special ability used by Shadow the Hedgehog in Sonic the Hedgehog (2006). It makes Shadow glow in a bright red tone and gives him enhanced strength and Chaos powers for a limited ammout of time.
Overview
When using the Chaos Boost, Shadow gains an upgrade in his set of Chaos powers, gaining access to Chaos Snap, Chaps Lance and the powerful Chaos Blast. The Chaos Boost also increases Shadow's destructive power and makes him invulnerable to enemy attacks while using his own abilities.
In order to unlock the Chaos Boost ability, players must get the blue Memory Shard item. However, just collecting this item won't unlock access to all of Chaos Boost's benefits. Instead, the Chaos Boost is divided in three levels of power. The player must obtain the red and the black Memory Shards to level up the Chaos Boost up to Level 3:
- Level 1 unlocks Chaos Snap, an improved version of the Chaos Attack;
- Level 2 unlocks Chaps Lance, an improved version of the Chaos Spear;
- Level 3 unlocks Chaos Blast, not present in Shadow's normal set of abilities.
How to use
Sonic the Hedgehog (2006)
To activate Chaos Boost, players must press the Right Trigger or R2 button, depending on the platform used.
Other Media
Shadow is shown to use Chaos Boost in the American Sonic the Hedgehog comic series. Shadow simply needs to remove his inhibitor rings to activate the move. He then uses his many Chaos powers from the games, including Chaos Blast.
