Sonic Colours: Ultimate/Bugs

From Sonic Retro

Back to: Sonic Colours: Ultimate.

The bugs in this list apply specifically to Sonic Colours: Ultimate. Bugs that are known to also occur in the Wii version of Sonic Colours should go here.

Player bugs

Slow-motion on the results screen with Jade Ghost

If, while using the Jade Ghost Color Power, the player touches the Goal Ring while locking on to an anchor, then Sonic will move in slow motion on the results screen. An easy level to recreate this bug is Sweet Mountain Act 4.

Not fixed in any version.

Audio bugs

Silent Color Power

Occasionally, music normally associated with Color Powers may fail to play when using a Color Power.

Not fixed in any version.

Rendering bugs

Rapidly flashing colours (Switch only)

SonicColoursUltimate Switch Bug FlashingColours.png

At launch, the Nintendo Switch version of the game did not clear texture memory in stages correctly, and thus would attempt to load both the previous and current stage textures. This would result in rapidly flashing lights that could cause an epileptic seizure.

Fixed in v1.0.4, released September 14, 2021.

Miscellaneous bugs

Maximum Park Tokens

On rare occasions, the game may tally the player's Park Token count incorrectly, giving the player a maximum of 99,999 Park Tokens. Should this happen, the player will easily be able to afford every item in the shop.

Not fixed in any version.
