I'll leave that first part above up there for posterity.  I first found the hacking scene in late 2002, and joined SonicCult in February 2003, and SWS2B in September 2005.  I've had my work featured in an early version of Rika_Chou's Sonic 2 Advanced Edit, then I sort of quit hacking for a while because I was going through some personal issues and had to straighten them out.  I came back in late 2006, and was working on a hack til my computer crashed and then I lost the drive to make any major effort to make a hack after that, just dabbling in making level art here and there.  I never became skilled on the technical side of things, I preferred to just change the art.

I am probably one of the few people here who resisted learning ASM for a few reasons, so if you want to know something on that front, I'm not the guy to ask.  Then I found the Sonic Retro project, which would enable me to make art and other things that others would be able to carry on, rather than let it languish on my computer, so I've begun working on that and have more drive than I ever have had to work on Sonic games.  I feel I'm making some of the best work I've ever put out now.

My style of art and hacking may put me at odds with others at times because I'm more simplistic with mine.  I tend to try to keep my art as Sonic-2-esque as possible, as I feel that game's art is simple, yet great.  Others want to try to evolve even a little bit past Sonic 3/Sonic and Knuckles, and I fear that going too far with it, with too much ASM, etc, will go beyond what the Genesis would do and make a hack not in the spirit of the original Sonic games.  However I do love to make new, innovative stuff, so sometimes I have to ignore my feelings on how I do my art, and challenge myself to do something more.
