This cliche is a relatively new one. It takes place in any level with cars, buildings, and roads! Expect here to run down (or along!) buildings, along roads twisting in any direction, and maybe even dodge some cars!
These levels are distinct from those of the Factory/City cliché in that they are not necessarily Eggman Empire industrial hellscapes, instead portraying the nicer (or at least less grim) side of a built-up human environment.
First appeared: Radical City, Sonic R
Also:
- Speed Highway and Station Square, Sonic Adventure
- City Escape, Mission Street, and Radical Highway, Sonic Adventure 2
- Route 99, Sonic Advance 3
- Crisis City, Sonic 06
- Westopolis, Lethal Highway, and Central City, Shadow the Hedgehog
- Central City, Sonic Battle
- Skyscraper Scamper, Sonic Unleashed
It should be noted that there are also two levels in Sonic Adventure 2 which are set in this environment, but are NOT platforming levels. Instead they are the Kart levels Route 101 and Route 280.
