The following are other scrapped Badniks which were to be featured in Sonic the Hedgehog 2. The badniks were taken from concept art found here and here.

Dragonfly

Dragonfly is a airborn badnik which drops sections off its body that would explode as they hit the ground.

Lobster

Lobster is a badnik which would swim underwater.

Mole

Mole is a badnik which stays inside walls and comes out thru the side to attack Sonic if he comes near that wall.

Penguin

Penguin is a badnik which has a spring on it's nose which would knock Sonic away if he attacked by jumping or walked into it. Sonic would be forced to roll on the ground to effectively attack it.

Porcupine

Porcupine is a badnik which appeared on land based sections.

Pteredactyl or Vulture

Pteredactyl or Vulture is a badnik which would fly in the air and open a hatch in it's stomach to drop projectiles on Sonic.

Squid

Squid appears to be a badnik which appeared in underwater sections.
