A device that allows a user to connect more than two controllers to a game console that has only two controller ports. Multitaps exist for many consoles, including the [[Sega Genesis]] and Sony PlayStation. Newer consoles usually have four controller ports built in, so multitaps have become (nearly) obsolete.
