Longclaw is a character who appears in the Sonic the Hedgehog live-action film. She is a motherly owl who takes in Sonic the Hedgehog as an adopted son.

History

Longclaw was the last surviving member of a noble line of warrior owls dedicated to maintaining balance for all living creatures for many years.

Longclaw dedicated her time to raise Sonic, urging him to hide his abilities so he would not be hunted down. However, he did not listen, and a tribe of echidnas discovered them after Sonic had brought her a flower. Wounded while trying to escape, Longclaw sent Sonic to Earth with a bag of Rings, telling him to never stop running, while she stayed behind.

Her fate is left unclear, as she was never seen or heard from again.

Behind the scenes

Originally, Longclaw was planned to travel to Earth with Sonic and continue raising him there in isolation until she passes away from old age. Deleted scenes included as bonus features in DVD, Blu-ray and digital releases of the flim feature this original plan.

Sonic Forces: Speed Battle

Longclaw was added to Sonic Forces: Speed Battle as a Special character featured in an event that ran from xxxx to xxxx as part of a promotion for the Sonic the Hedgehog film. She has maximum acceleration, high speed and average strength, and can use Lightning, Wind Boost and Cyclone Charge as items.

Sonic Dash

Longclaw was also added to Sonic Dash as a special event character to promote the Sonic the Hedgehog film.
