Character conception
Agent Stone was originally created as a very minor character, just someone for Dr. Robotnik to talk with in the first film. He was even a combination of two different characters who was decided should be only one actor. They casted local Lebanese actor Lee Majdoub as the character and the cast and crew instantly fell in love with him. As Jim Carrey was improvising many of Robotnik's scenes on set, Lee Majdoub, from chatting with Carrey, turned Stone from an "exposition tool" to an adoring pupil, wanting more attention from his partner.[1] And Jim Carrey's love of Lee Majdoub got Stone into more scenes than he was intended to be in.[2]
The writers of the Sonic films, Patrick Casey and Josh Miller, said when writing the sequel they wanted to put more of Stone in it after seeing the first movie. Much of Sonic 2 was developed before the release of the first movie however, and so the crew were not aware of how popular Agent Stone will become. The third film will be the first one written with Agent Stone as a core character.[3]
Personality and traits
He was a government agent who worked directly under Dr. Robotnik as his lackey. Although Dr. Robotnik was not empathetic or respectful towards any human being, including Stone, Stone still held the Doctor in very high regard. However, Dr. Robotnik does like how Agent Stone prepares his coffee.
History
Sonic the Hedgehog (film)
Agent Stone was assigned to by the U.S. government to work with Dr. Robotnik. Robotnik made Stone do many menial tasks but Stone did them with a positive attitude. The two were sent to Green Hills, Montana to investigate a mysterious power surge. Soon they discovered it was caused by a blue alien hedgehog named Sonic and went chasing after him to San Francisco. The blue blur later used a ring portal to send Stone's partner to Mushroom Planet.
Sonic the Hedgehog 2: The Official Movie Pre-Quill
Now alone, and out of the Government, Stone took over a coffee shop with the help of Dr. Robotnik's drones.
Sonic the Hedgehog 2 (film)
Stone was happy to see Dr. Robotnik later return with a new friend Knuckles the Echidna. As Robotnik and Knuckles worked together to steal the Master Emerald, Stone stayed in the Mean Bean coffee shop to design a new outfit for the doctor. While working, Wade Whipple busted into the Mean Bean and tied Stone to a chair. Later, Robotnik returned powered by the Master Emerald's energy to Stone and Wade's surprise. Robotnik used his new powers to build a Giant Eggman Robot which Stone helped operate. However, Sonic, Tails and Knuckles defeated Stone and Robotnik. The doctor went missing after the battle and Stone went undercover to investigate as a G.U.N. agent. At the wreckage of the Giant Eggman Robot, he overheard a conversation discussing Project Shadow.
