The first section is called "Small Oasis" (Tiny Oasis) and it’s where Rouge first starts. It’s supposedly located in the desert, yet it’s full of grass and greenery. It’s composed of two major levels, the bottom floor where a shrine enclosed pond is and a high upper one, which is GUN’s storage area. After Rouge destroys the two Gun Hunters that are guarding a turtle, it will drag itself to the pond. Rouge can stand on the floating turtle’s shell and travel from one section to the other, back and forth.

The second section is called "Huge Oasis" (Large Oasis), with a huge pond accordingly. It branches into two hallways opposite to each other as well, the "Three Headed Wall" area to the left and the "Statue’s Pool" area to the right, aligned as how Rouge first arrives. There’s also another swimming turtle in this section's huge pool, which will take Rouge to the “Oasis Prison”. To return from "Oasis Prison", Rouge only needs to go with the water flow but can also catch a ride with the turtle once again.

Template:SA2Level Dry Lagoon is the second stage in the Dark storyline of Sonic Adventure 2 and the first stage playable with Rouge.

Purpose

As it is a hunting stage, the goal, as with Sonic Adventure, is to find the three shards of the Master Emerald hidden in that level.

Appearance

Dry Lagoon is divided into two major sections. The major gimmick of this level is the turtles that help Rouge travel to sections unreachable otherwise.

Other level specific objects are pillars and stone apartment boxes that have various items and giant statues holding boxes that can be dug,(both likewise in Knuckles’s Wild Canyon, small pools whose bottom can be dug, small wind currents that can be floated on, palmtrees that can be climbed, jars that can be smashed and level-specific patterned boxes that can be destroyed.

Dry Lagoon mirrors KnucklesWild Canyon in many ways:

  • Both are Egyptian themed to a certain degree.
  • Both have two major sections that are only reachable by the level’s major gimmick and both are located at the beginning of the section where both begin.
  • The first section is divided into a ground level and an upper level, with ledges along the walls.
  • The second section is a huge circular section that branches into two opposite hallways.
