By giving you 100 rings when entering a Special Stage, the 1229 prototype is the first known version of Chaotix that allows you to complete them. There are no sound effects and all levels lack objects, and the final stage loads the first from the level select.

Despite having some objects in the 1227 prototype, the first stage is empty again in 1229, but it does have a new colour scheme; it's green and yellow now.

As you can finish levels now, you can collect "Holy Rings".

The second stage still asks for three blue spheres, but is unchanged since 1227 so can't be beaten.
