Sonic Boom: Rise of Lyric, known as Sonic Toon: Taiko no Hihou (ソニックトゥーン 太古の秘宝) in Japan, is a Sonic the Hedgehog game tied into the Sonic Boom franchise, which also includes the Sonic Boom TV show and the Nintendo 3DS game, Sonic Boom: Shattered Crystal. It was developed externally by Big Red Button and IllFonic for Sega, exclusively for the Wii U.
Significant programming and design problems have led to Sonic Boom: Rise of Lyric being classed as one of the worst Sonic games released on record.

Gameplay
Rise of Lyric is an action game which largely consists of four characters, Sonic the Hedgehog, Miles "Tails" Prower, Knuckles the Echidna and Amy Rose, traversing levels together crossing platforms, fighting enemies (beat-'em-up style), solving puzzles and occasionally turning into on-the-rails segments similar to that of Sonic Dash. In some stages, Sonic and Tails spilt up with Knuckles and Amy so you can have the differences of not playing as all four characters.
