Animal Friends are various animals imprisoned by Dr. Eggman for use as 'organic batteries' in his badnik army.

Sonic Adventure 2

There are 21 small enemies in Sonic Adventure 2. Each are strictly related to raising Chao and are colour-coded like in Sonic Adventure. They can be found inside Badniks like in Sonic Adventure, scattered across the level and in the second and third Chao container. There are always four normal types in each level; animals in each badnik and second Chao container are random, while they're defined when scattered along the levels and the third Chao container always has the stage's level specific one, a rare animal.
