Sonic 2 Megamix is the second installment in the Megamix series of hacks by Team Megamix, being initially intended as a proper sequel to Sonic Megamix. It was created by Tweaker for submission in the 4th Hacking Contest. It features edited palettes, music, levels, and the addition of Shadow the Hedgehog as an alternate skin for Sonic.

There was some future plans were to revamp the hack, including moving it to a split disassembly and revamping the level layouts; the former of which was already completed back then. But after certain progress, like some music imports from Sonic Advance 2 or Sonic Jam, as well the addition of the Homing Attack and the Light Dash, the hack was definitely cancelled (kinda due to being overshadowed by Sonic Megamix's popularity). At the end, most of the finished content ended up going to Thorn's Sonic 2 Retro Remix.
