Burrobot' (called "Mogurin" in the Japanese manual) is found in Labyrinth Zone and Scrap Brain Zone in the Sega Genesis version of the original Sonic the Hedgehog game (he is only found in Labyrinth Zone in the Sega Game Gear version). They are enemies which pop out of the ground when you are near, hitting you if you are close enough. They move along the ground slowly and can climb up onto higher ledges almost instantaneously.
Grounder from Adventures of Sonic the Hedgehog is based off of this enemy.
