Wii version
Characters
Using a hacking tool called WiiRD revealed several unused playable characters in the Wii version of Mario & Sonic at the Olympic Games: Birdo, Donkey Kong, Silver, and Jet[1]. The Birdo model doesn't seem to be finished because the mouth seems off. Also, several other characters that were used as background characters can be made playable also. These characters are: Shy Guy, Toad, Lakitu, Charmy, Espio, Cream, Boo, Bullet Bill, Goomba, Egg Pawn, Flapper, Kiki, and Big. These characters can only be used in certain places such as the trampoline event.
Donkey Kong and Silver would become playable characters from Mario & Sonic at the Olympic Winter Games onwards. Jet, Toad, Birdo, Cream and Espio only became playable guest characters in Mario & Sonic at the Rio 2016 Olympic Games, with Cream and Birdo becoming exclusive to the Nintendo 3DS version and Toad being exclusive to the Wii U version.

All the enemies that appear in the Dream Shooting event, who are all 2D prerendered sprites. Their filenames are kiki_ss.xap, eggflapper_ss.xap, eggpawn_ss.xap, eggpawn_gr_ss.xap, eggpawn_g_ss.xap and eggpawn_y_ss.xap. | ||
