This appears to be a demonstration level created by Sega to test how certain elements would work. We see some strange, and downright insane, arrangement of objects that makes the gameplay extremely difficult. Mystic Cave Zone exists in this prototype as "Dust Hill Zone".
This appears to be a demonstration level created by Sega to test how certain elements would work. We see some strange, and downright insane, arrangement of objects that makes the gameplay extremely difficult. There is no ring or enemies in this level, and debug mode is necessary to get pass numerous pits that would be otherwise impassable.

Straight from the outset you can see three swingers aligned together. The final game never uses more than two, and none appear in the first act.

Four rotating spikes. You never see more than two surrounding a platform in the final game. There are so many objects in this introductory section that the game struggles to display them all.
