SOTI joined the Sonic scene around June 2007. One of SOTI's main interests is editing the Sonic Retro wiki, from uploading stuff to making templates to doing minor edits, SOTI has made over 1,500 edits to the wiki, although he's barely created pages of his own. Using Tina in #reporting as well as the Recent Changes page, SOTI regularly looks at edits made and how they can be improved or fixed.
SOTI isn't exactly good with hacking, though he can make good music imports to the SMPS format using xm4smps. He can also do some minor stuff with ASM but it's not impressive...yet. He is currently working on his own hack (which rarely gets worked on) as well as the multi-award winning hack, Sonic Boom, doing music imports and other stuff.
History
Like most people, SOTI started as an annoying noob who would end up getting banned and suspended at places such as Sonic CulT and The Glowing Bridge. In August 2007 he passed the quiz and joined the Sonic 2 Beta Forums and ended up being placed in Pending Approval. Due to IRC raids supposedly done under his name, he would later be misfitted on the forums weeks later, although after a discussion with Tweaker, he would be unbanned and placed into PA again. SOTI started to mature during November 2007 on the RetroHack forums, becoming staff for a short while until late December. He would later become a Maintainer of that site during 2009, which gave him administrative powers, where he fixed as many problems on the board that he could until RetroHack's fall in October '09.
On January 1st, 2008, SOTI entered the Sonic Retro IRC channel for the first time since September, in which he left after he was the victim of a prank by the CulTNET IRC staff who hosted the server, causing him to be Z-lined from the server. Soon he would be given the chance to take the quiz again and became a Trial Member. This time he was approved and has been a Member on the Sonic Retro forums ever since.
Fast Facts
- SOTI stands for Sonic On The Internet. This was often used as a meme on a few IRC channels in the Sonic community, with INTERNET said in bigtext.
- Another old meme that SOTI was involved in was Straight Line Zone. In August 2007 a hack of his was leaked featuring a level, Green Grass Zone, in which Act 1 was made up of a straight line.
- SOTI's hacking skills are very limited, however he has been able to assist some people publically on the forums as well as in private.
- SOTI quickly whipped up a Sonic 1 hack for the 2008 Hacking Contest in which the first Special Stage resembled a penis. It didn't win anything though, but it didn't matter. You can download it here.
- In the 2009 Hacking Contest, he created a hack known as Sonic and Friends, which won the Shadow Trophy. After any option in the title screen was selected players would be redirected to a screen with Monsquaz, followed by a few pictures of Sonic hentai. Download it here if you want to, but have some bleach near you at all times.
