LEGO Sonic the Hedgehog Sets

From Sonic Retro

Duplication problem

We have these two categories for literally the same thing, and both of them hold duplicate files, most of which neither had any of their copies put on any pages - they were just uploaded here and just left here without use.

Clearly these all need sorting out, but which ones are we keeping? --BSonirachi (talk) 10:44, 20 December 2023 (EST)

"LEGO" has more descriptive file names. The offenders on the "Lego" page are 9 files that aren't in "LEGO", but I will say I like the category being "Lego" instead of "LEGO".
Anyway, if moving from "Lego" to "LEGO" these are the unique files:

If "LEGO" to "Lego":

The assets I uploaded came from the original press release (scroll down). I'll have prefixed the file names with "LegoSonic" so they didn't get lost on the wiki. -Black Squirrel (talk) 15:02, 21 December 2023 (EST)
Which copies of the assets are we keeping? All of the copies in this category got marked for deletion, however some of them are being used on pages instead of the others. --BSonirachi (talk) 12:36, 22 December 2023 (EST)
I'll be biased and say mine ;)
But it doesn't matter as long as the best version of the file itself is the one we use. I'm not particularly fussed about LEGO vs Lego in file names, though the page making use of them should be LEGO.
Though as long as any files are named (and preferably categorised) descriptively, I've no problem with person A doing the upload for person B to document later. If people are are more comfortable uploading content than writing about it, that's fine - half the work is better than no work. The software should have warned about duplicate files and Special:UnusedFiles catches unused stuff, it's just on all of us to make sure that list doesn't grow too big.
This shouldn't be an issue because there's hundreds of forum members with an apparent interest in Sonic, which is not a luxary afforded to Sega or NEC Retro. "Should" is the operative word. -Black Squirrel (talk) 14:45, 22 December 2023 (EST)
