<forumuser name="x64" /> x64 (full name Spike Alexis Damon) is the name of a female freelance computer consultant from Pennsylvania who has been involved off and on in the Sonic community since 2000.

x64 was born on October 10, 1985 in North Hollywood, CA, but has lived in Pennsylvania and New Jersey all her life. She is proficient at object-oriented programming, network infrastructure, and IRC. She enjoys trolling the clueless, flirting with the cute, and insulting the retarded.

History

Area 51 & Area 52

x64 came on the scene during the Sonic the Hedgehog Area 51 days. She existed mainly as a lurker, sometimes posting comments under other peoples' usernames--a practice that was allowed (and common) by the type of board used at the time. When Area 51 moved to an ezBoard, she started posting under her own username, but was quickly shunned due to her tendency to troll.

When then-unknown friend x64 took a leave of absence from the internet after a computer hardware issue, she used his account up until the end of the ezBoard era, as he had already established a postcount and was somewhat known; this was because creating a new account to post with would be suspicious, and might potentially lead to a swift re-banning.

After Jan Abaza left LOst in charge of Area 51, LOst's administrative actions started becoming increasingly more questionable. At one point, he removed post counts and replaced them with a ranking system that ranked users based on how important LOst thought they were. x64 (then posting as x64) didn't feel this was fair, and after an incident where a fellow hacker received a large ranking due to a hack that was made using a tool x64 built but never got credit for, she decided to fork the board.

When RattleMan created the Sonic the Hedgehog Area 52 message board, x64 and many of her alternate accounts was given admin, along with a few others. The message board was a complete copy of Area 51, with a few slight changes--the most notable of these changes being a ranking system based on postcount. For every 10-20 posts you made, you received a Chaos Emeralds beside your name. After the standard 7 colors, there were about 20 more nonstandard colors, followed by striped, gold, transparent, glowing, and platinum emeralds awarded for 1000, 2000, 3000, etc. posts. Moderators had black emeralds and Administrators had rainbow emeralds.

At one point there was a strong consensus that the Area 51 board, now run amok by LOst, needed to be shut down. There were efforts made by PACHUKA and several others to do this on the grounds of copyright infringement and computer hacking assertions, but ezBoard didn't take any of the requests seriously. One night, x64 started at post 1 and worked her way up, cataloging a 21 page list of all posts and user profiles that contained copyright-infringing pictures, sound files, links to patches, roms, etc. The report was categorized into copyright infringing images, potential trade secret information, reverse engineering, hacking, and external links to infringing material sections. The next day, Area 51's message board was gone due to "terms of service violation".

Following this incident, x64 left the Sonic community to pursue her interest in IRC daemon development.

Return as Olene

Project Olene was a project led by a few people on EFnet, aimed at trolling small IRC networks and forum owners by posing as a physically-attractive 18 year old, gaining access, taking over the network or forum, and generally causing havoc. Of the roughly estimated 16 individuals that portrayed the identity of Olene online, x64 was the last one with access to the Olene database of log files, contacts, and bouncer accounts. While portraying Olene, x64 connected to a small network known as espernet, and found a channel named #lemonade, run by a small Sonic community known as Lemonheads. After unsuccessful attempts to infiltrate the network staff, she decided to stay, as the channel was mostly friendly.

After about a year or so, there was a falling out and x64 left.

A Fresh Start

In the interim since leaving espernet and #lemonade, x64 decided to forgo the Olene persona, as it was receiving a majorly negative reputation; not only this, but she was tired of using others accounts as "shells" to hide who she really was--she just wanted to herself for once. x64 left EFnet (where Olene was headquartered) as Olene, noting that she was going on to "get a real life". She subsequently went back to #lemonade as herself, under the alias x64.

Unfortunately, many people understandably noted that, despite her new identity, that she was "Olene in disguise." Even though the reverse was true, she was unable to properly escape the Olene label. She remains associated with Olene to this day.

The Sonic 2 Beta Page

After #lemonade exiled x64 for presumably being tied to--"being the same person as"--Olene, she followed some members of the channel to The Sonic 2 Beta Page, where she ironically entered a war zone; literally one day prior, Qjimbo had taken over the community, posing as Tweaker and removing him in an event that would later be called The March 25th coup.

Qjimbo and x64 became friends rather quickly, and he appointed her as network administrator (more specifically, he gave her his o-line password, and she added her own oper account). At this time x64 was working on Scarlet, an object oriented-based IRC server that was modular and could run on any operating system and integrate with any type of information.

Sazpaimon, who ran the S2Beta IRC server, allowed x64 to attempt to integrate the IRC network into the S2Beta forums. Qjimbo, who had just forked the database to start Glowing Bridge, also wanted her to do the same with his forum and network. x64 chose S2Beta since it was bigger, and successfully integrated the network and forum to the point where users would authenticate their nicknames using their forum password, and their post count, forum title, and other information would show up as several lines in their /whois reply. In addition, users and channels could subscribe via a set of user and channel modes to server notices informing them of any updates, edits, or new threads or users on the forum.

Glowing Bridge

Approximately 2 weeks later following , Nikki, Sazpaimon's girlfriend, was showing increasing animosity for x64, presumably because x64 had given a set of topless pictures to Sazpaimon to appease his relentless request for boobpix. As a result, x64 left, citing that she did not want to stay where she was not wanted. She started setting up the same system at Glowing Bridge, where she already had access. There was resistance from Fiz, who is rumored to have been in a relationship with Qjimbo at the time. Fiz seemed to have some type of inferiority complex and responded by demanding that x64 "SHOULD NOT HAVE ACCESS" as seen in the following log that, rather ironically, took place in a channel named #peace:

21.29.13 <@Fiz> i have logs you dumb cunt
21.29.17 <@Fiz> dont fucking switch words around me
21.29.23 <@Fiz> im tired of dealing with this
21.29.31 <@Fiz> YOU SHOULD NOT
21.29.32 <@Fiz> HAVE FUCKING
21.29.33 <@Fiz> ACCESS
21.29.36 <@x64> Why?
21.29.43 <@Fiz> i gave al lthe reasons there
21.29.50 <@Fiz> and if youre gonna go "well that has little to do with anything"
21.29.53 <@Fiz> then you can suck my asshole
21.30.03 <@Fiz> this shouldnt be a discussion between you and me
21.30.07 <@Fiz> this should between me and jim
21.30.10 <@Qjimbo> well
21.30.12 <@x64> You can't seem to give a single concreate example of when I have screwed up on GB.
21.30.19 <@Fiz> you uh
21.30.21 <@x64> You can't produce any evidence as to my incompetance.
21.30.25 <@x64> Other than "you can't rehash a server"
21.30.36 <@Fiz> i dont know, its just what people at #s2beta said
21.30.55 <@x64> Is that how you form opinions of people?
21.30.58 <@Fiz> NO OPINION
21.31.05 <@Fiz> THEY AR REASONS
21.31.07 <@Fiz> NOT OPINIONS

Following these events, x64 once again left the community as a result of another female having problems with her presence. After a vote took place to see which user the board's members preferred, more users voted to keep x64 than Fiz; regardless Qjimbo still sided with Fiz.

Sonic Retro

Roughly 2 years after finding S2Beta, x64 decided to give the community another try, since Sazpaimon had since become addicted to what could only be crack cocaine and had defected from the community (or rather the community defected from him).

Flash Animation

One of x64' hobbies is creating short humorous flash animations. The animations she created as Olene can be found at the chowned mirror site. x64 has also created parodies of Qjimbo's Michael Jackson's Sonic 3 presentation, which can be found here. This was well received by many members in the Sonic Retro IRC channel.
