The Green Hill Zone is a website dedicated to documenting every game produced by Sonic Team from 1991 to the present. The site was launched on May 17th, 1997 by Jared Matte (a.k.a "Green Gibbon!"), and was named after the first Zone of the series' original game, Sonic the Hedgehog. It has been renowned for a cynical sense of humor associated with most of its users.
The bulk of the site's pages are devoted to the numerous Sonic the Hedgehog games that have been produced by Sonic Team, but it also has pages about NiGHTS into Dreams, ChuChu Rocket!, Samba de Amigo, and Phantasy Star Online. As of 2018, the site appears to be inactive, as the list of Sonic Team games has not been updated since 2010, and the most recent Sonic game to get its own page is Sonic Heroes. It retains a somewhat active forum, however.
