"All characters enter from tunnels from Lava Reef, and exit through teleporters to Sky Sanctuary. Interestingly, Hidden Palace is listed as Lava Reef Act 4 in the Stage Select menu. This is not an unreasonable jump, as it shares music and overall appearance with Lava Reef Act 2, although the backgrounds are different as the Death Egg can be seen leaving the mouth of the volcano in Hidden Palace, while it was still stuck there in Act 2."

Is this really necessary? I had always assumed that the only reason it was listed there was because there wasn't much more room on the level select screen. I doubt that it's actually treated by arrays in the game as act 2, or even as the second act of the boss of Lava Reef 2, in which case it's a lot of fuss to make over what was just a space-saving maneuver.

:It actually is in that slot, just as Scrap Brain 3 is in Labyrinth slot 4 in Sonic 1. It was just a way to fit as much as they can into open slots. Lava Reef slot 3 (or rather, 2nd Lava Reef slot 1) is the section of Lava Reef where the boss is. However I would suggest rewording it in the article. [[User:MK|MK]] 15:44, 26 January 2009 (CST)

This is not an unreasonable jump, as it shares music and overall appearance with Lava Reef Act 2, although the backgrounds are different as the Death Egg can be seen leaving the mouth of the volcano in Hidden Palace, while it was still stuck there in Act 2."

It actually is in that slot, just as Scrap Brain 3 is in Labyrinth slot 4 in Sonic 1. It was just a way to fit as much as they can into open slots. Lava Reef slot 3 (or rather, 2nd Lava Reef slot 1) is the section of Lava Reef where the boss is. However I would suggest rewording it in the article. MK 15:44, 26 January 2009 (CST)
