Super Mecha Sonic

Super Mecha Sonic appears in the Knuckles' boss battle in Sky Sanctuary Zone when you have defeated Mecha Sonic in his normal form - Mecha Sonic jumps onto the Master Emerald, transforming into a Super form of the Sonic & Knuckles Boss. It requires you to hit Mecha Sonic, when in the normal form, 8 times to defeat this boss.

Unlike Mecha Sonic, Super Mecha Sonic has the ability to fly. The main attack is 3 large energy balls that are fired from Super Mecha Sonic's chest. Super Mecha Sonic can also do a Spin attack while in the air, which is directed at Knuckles. Each time Super Mecha Sonic does the former attack, it requires him to recharge via the Master Emerald to transform into Super Mecha Sonic again.
