Stay Sonic was a guidebook to the Sonic's world published in the United Kingdom in 1993. Coming out on the heels of Sonic the Hedgehog 2, the book chronicled the history of Sonic himself, basing its tale upon the early Sonic backstory created for the character by Sega of America that involved Dr. Ovi Kintobor and his Retro-Orbital Chaos Compressor.

While this story had been almost entirely ignored by Sonic cartoons and comics released in North America, it went on to become the backbone of almost all United Kingdom fiction, including the Virgin Media novels written by Martin Adams (particularly the time-travel story, Sonic the Hedgehog in the Fourth Dimension) and most enduringly, Fleetway's Sonic the Comic.

In addition to this history lesson, the book also contained character profiles for the cast of the first two games, including the animal friends, descriptions of the planet Mobius and its many zones, and zone-by-zone tips for Sonic the Hedgehog 2 (16-bit) and Sonic the Hedgehog 2 (8-bit).
