Sonic Riders is an upcoming Sonic racing game, revealed by Famitsu on September 7, 2005, prior to 2005's Tokyo Game Show. It will be available for the Nintendo GameCube, Sony PlayStation 2, and Microsoft X-Box in Japan by Winter 2005, but a western release date is unknown.

The game's premise is that Doctor Eggman has set up a hoverboard racing tournament, and our heroes have all taken up the challenged. The victor will obtain one of the Chaos Emeralds.
