Knuckles' Chaotix is the fourth Sonic Special published. It includes three stories: "The Chaos Effect", ""Tag! You're It!", and "The Hunt Is On".
The Chaos Effect
The story begins as all the Freedom Fighters, including minor members, have come to a carnival situated on top of the Floating Island. Although the Freedom Fighter are enjoying themselves, Knuckles tells Sonic that he wasn't the one who invited all of them to the Carnival. A rat walks up, bumping Knuckles out of the way, saying to be Renfield T. Rodent, leading the Freedom Fighters into a Hall of Mirrors. After a flash of light, all of the Freedom Fighters except Knuckles have been converted into the mirrors themselves.
Robotnik appears as a hologram inside of one of the mirrors, telling Knuckles about how he hired Renfield to do the work for him. Knuckles tries to break the glass separating him and the Doctor, but Robotnik reveals that the released energies have taken away all of Knuckles powers. He says that although he could have transported him to the other dimension wit the others, but he needed a witness for his plan.
As Knuckles tries to think of a plan to rescue Sonic and the gang, Charmy flies by. As Knuckles and Charmy talk, Espio appears from a nearby tree trunk.
