Sonic Maker
From Sonic Retro
Sonic Maker is an unreleased PC game creation application being made by Sonica. It is designed to be a user-friendly level editor using existing game objects, including platforms, rings, boxes, and loops. It's easy-to-use interface allows simple click & place in a level grid as every object is a set number of squares. As of now, there is no way to save or test your layouts, meaning this is still in a testing phase.

First appearance
Sonic Maker was first publically mentioned on this thread on the Sonic Retro message board to catch attention, also to see what the community thought of the idea.
Programming
Like most intermediate programmers, Sonica is making Sonic Maker's editor in Visual Basic. The runner will use a variation of engines ranging form Game Maker (Sonic Dash) to Visual Basic.
Runners
The 'runners' in Sonic Maker are the engines that will make the games people make. They will be ranging from many different engines and programs. The current working one that Sonica is going to release is made in Game Maker. But in the future engines will be added, with different exporting methods. Engines like MultimediaFusion Sonic Worlds, an engine Made in Visual Basic and any others he can find that will be suitible and adaptable, to use Sonic Makers features.
Future versions
Future versions of Sonic Maker will include more features and the access to many different ways of creating Sonic games. The next verson especially will be the first working demo, where you can play your games and actually make a finishable level. The first version was just an attention seeker, also getting the making bugs out of the way.
