Standing/crouching status is conserved between jumps; player state flow can go Standing > Crouching > Standing, Standing > Jumping > Standing or Crouching > Jumping > Crouching, but never Standing > Jumping > Crouching or Crouching > Standing > Jumping. When the player lands from a standing jump while holding , they remain aiming down from a standing position (as if is held) and do not crouch. Once they take any action which changes the direction of their aim, pressing again will result in a crouch. Conversely, when the player lands from a crouching jump while holding , they remain aiming up from a crouched position and do not stand.
