Shade was a former lurker in the Sonic Research Scene, ever since 1999, and after lurking on and off, finally joined SWS2B on November 2nd 2005 after he felt he had built up his knowledge to a point were he would not be useless or annoying to the community. Shade is now a regular at SWS2B, and has made a few noteworthy contributions to the scene; the most prominent of them being what was essentially the blow that reopened the Michael Jackson/Sonic the Hedgehog 3 connection by bringing to the attention of the scene the uncanny resemblance of Michael Jackson's "Stranger in Moscow" and the Sonic 3 Credits, as well as noting similarities between MJ's 1987 song "Smooth Criminal" and Ice Cap Zone's music. He has also made some interesting observations having to do with some odd music tracks in Sonic Rush, which turned up interesting results.

Shade is also known for his conception, scripting, and general managing of the sprite comic series Simon Wai Sonic Research University; A joint effort between himself, Qjimbo, Sakura Courage Solo, and FinalBeyond. Shade was also behind the compilement and release of the album Now That's What I Call SWS2B!. Shade is currently working on a trilogy of palette/level layout combination hacks dubbed The Neo Islands Trilogy (Sonic 1, Sonic 2, and Sonic 3 & Knuckles).

Shade is mainly found posting in SWS2B or on the IRC channel of said community; although he has recently spread out into other community branches of the Sonic Research Scene, such as Sonic CulT and SSRG.

Random Shade Trivia:

• Shade is a bisexual in that he dates both genders, but he is very unsexual; He does not find sex in very important or overly appealing. Shade also has a slightly femenine appearance. This is generally known around the community and makes him a bit unique as a male. In simpler, but perhaps more confusing terms, he is a Metrosexual Bisexual Nonsexual/Asexual.
• Shade is widely considered to be annOYing.
• Shade is also a cool, cool guy. One can punch him in the nads and he will fly to the sky. Shade claims to be a liar. Oh no! His cock is on fire.
• Shade can moonwalk.
• Shade enjoys roller-blading, but isnt terribly great at it.
