THE "O RLY" FACTOR
"The scene originally thought that the green emerald in the Sonic 2 version of HPZ was the Master Emerald, but the interview with Craig Stitt revealed it was supposedly nothing more than a breakable block." :O and OLD.
Yuji Naka said it was a place for Sonic to gain its super powers. Altough I can't say it's the Master Emerald, better let somebody who knows more about the topic to correct this.
